5pm is nighttime right now. Can you name me one fast paced ride on any day of the week? I know of none.

I guess I'll just ride when I can and call it 'my ride' and maybe someone in a blue moon will join me. Oh wait...

We need to start generating ideas, no matter how silly, so we can find the ideal name.

Here is the list of name ideas I came up with randomly:

Speed Demons/Devils
Salts
Muscle Hustle
GearCore
CycleCore
Endurance
BikeCore
BikeRush
BikeBeast
PedalPower
Pedal to the Peak
PrimalPedal
Tour de Endure
Chainlink
Human-Power
Velocipede
Bike-Flight

...just some ideas. I would like to see others ideas too.

How about "Blackout" because, it's you know, dark? Also, we could always move the ride to a later time when the weather gets nicer...

Whenever we ride and whatever we call it, here's a thought about two potential rules to help with ride cohesion:

-If you wish to set a pace faster than currently set, push out ahead and take the lead (or just move to the back of the next faster group) and see if the pack keeps up.

-Whoever is leading a pack, if you are outpacing those behind you, fall back to third place and stay there for a minute before making any adjustments.

I've never ridden a paceline and have no idea about how that works, but these to rules seem to cover anyone being left behind. And only includes a minor compromise for those who may be able to go faster.

Weather is starting to look good on a regular basis (minus tonight!) and I'm seeing more seasonal riders getting back out. Is it time to consider getting this ride going?

I've been making it out every night that isn't below 15 or snowing like mad. I think I'm ready to get out with a few hardcore riders. It may be a good idea to bring others out who are of similar speed and endurance to assure that you have someone to ride with. Check out this link:

Being dropped will probably be a common occurrence. I hope I get dropped at some point! Which won't be hard. Some will ride through stop signs and lights while others like to obey the traffic laws. This ride will only be rewarding for those that wish to compete against and improve themselves. Each week will be an opportunity to give it all you have and see if you can hang with the rest. As a reward, I think this ride needs to end someplace where we all eventually meet up for a meal and/or something to drink. That way the stragglers have something to look forward to after a hard ride, too.

So, thoughts? What times and days do you think are best and would fit into your regular schedule? Any thoughts on a regular meeting place? Somewhere open later that serves cheap hot drinks and simple sugar foods would be nice. We don't have a cool 24 hour donut shop like Tang's in LA, but I'm sure there's something we can substitute for it. Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm excited to see if someone can rip my legs off or vice versa! I wanna feel the pain every week.

I am Hustler material.

Just got some generator lights that are surprisingly bright.

Are we gonna ride the same route that we rode on the trial run?

At least if I know the route, when I get dropped I can still complete it.

Any evening at coffee garden works for me.
